At the end of last year, we saw a couple interesting changes occur. First, the number of sales was down 6.8% from 2017; second, inventory was up about 7% over the year before. Additionally, prices continued to rise in most areas of Chicago. The overall home price was up 2% year over year. However, different areas saw different trends: Some neighborhood prices were down as much as 6%, and some were up as much as 16%.
